Dorothea Hubble Bonneau

“You are to recover the formula with an absence of violence or malice. You are to use love to dispel fear. You are to remain true to your quest in the face of danger and deprivation.”
With these instructions, sixteen-year-old Mary Delawees is thrust into the bizarre world of Ra, where she must retrieve the ozone repair formula that will save her ancestral planet, Earth. Her journey leads her through worlds beyond her imagining, and teaches her the true meaning of love and personal power.

Letter from Ruth Cox,

Dear Fellow Reader,
I want to recommend a wonderful new book to you by Dorothea Hubble Bonneau, Seekers From Zantaparon. The book’s heroine, sixteen-year-old Mary Delaweese, learns to focus the power of her mind to access altered states of consciousness and uses her skills to conquer many physical and mental obstacles. Mary’s journey takes the reader on a unique and thrilling adventure into new imaginal worlds in her quest to recover an irreplaceable ozone repair formula. But the larger story within Seekers is that—unlike many other science-fiction titles—Bonneau’s heroine does not rely on violence, but rather on the power of her mind and her ability to love, to overcome all evil.
Dorothea Bonneau has created an original language to describe her characters’ abilities to “mindspeak” and to explore altered states of perception. Within different states of consciousness, the boundaries of time, space, and physical dimensions are creatively altered. The answers for Mary and her brother and sister lie ultimately in their abilities to transcend ordinary states of being and to overcome patterns of self-doubt and fear.
Seekers From Zantaparon is also a story about the recognition and reclamation of the human soul, and the qualities of spirit that bring meaning to life. Bonneau clearly draws upon her experiences with meditation, transpersonal psychology, and altered states of consciousness to launch the reader into new sensory worlds. Mary’s journey also holds many keys to archetypal messages that will speak to readers searching for inner truth and for what has heart and meaning in their lives.
Seekers From Zantaparon, like Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time, will appeal to readers of all ages. It has a timeless quality and contains messages that will last a lifetime. I do hope that you will make a point of reading it.
Best wishes,
Ruth Cox
"Seekers from Zantaparon" is an intriguing science fiction story that was hard for me to put down. Mary, a sixteen year old, and her siblings battle against sadistic, violent creatures who possess magical, evil powers. Mary's goal is to save the earth from catastrophic ozone damage. First romance, facing loss and death, family dynamics, developing power of mind, and the power of love, move this coming of age story. Change and transformation happen everywhere-even in the always shifting landscape. I loved the author's constantly evolving, flowing imagery and symbolism. This book can be enjoyed as a simple tale or spiritual exploration of what it means to be fully human.
